The workshop “Language Processing and Learning” brings together researchers interested in the relationship between cognitive processing, language processing, and language learning, particularly in bilingual and/or multilingual learners. It marks the completion of the DFG-funded project “CoLeaP – Cognition, Learning, Processing” (2020-2024). It will take place on Thursday, March 7, 2024, on site at the University of Munich (Germany).

The workshop will feature two talks from the CoLeaP project and two keynote talks by:

    • Janet van Hell (Pennsylvania State University)
    • John Trueswell (University of Pennsylvania)

We invite submissions for poster presentations that report empirical studies related to the topic of the workshop. Contributions with language learning as the outcome variable across different theoretical frameworks, covering various monolingual and/or multilingual populations, different areas of language development, and behavioral or neurophysiological methods are welcome. We particularly encourage submissions from junior researchers. Posters in A0 format will be presented in a poster session during the workshop.

Abstract submission will be possible from October 16 until December 15, 2023. Please submit a one-page A4 abstract of max. 400 words with possible references, figures, and tables on a second page as a single pdf file. Use the following format for naming the file: [SURNAME]_[FIRSTNAME]_[SHORT_TITLE]. Use the name of the first author only when naming the file. Please note that each participant can appear as the first author (and presenter) of one poster only.

Please submit your abstract here.

Abstracts will be evaluated by an ad-hoc committee consisting of the workshop organizers. We expect to send out notifications of acceptance by the end of December.
